Dice Packaging for Retail: Boxes, Trays, and Private Label Options

Packaging decides whether a gemstone dice set reads as a gift or a commodity. Here are the common formats, what can be branded, and how packaging affects cost, shipping, and shelf presence.

Dice Packaging for Retail: Boxes, Trays, and Private Label Options

With premium dice, the packaging is part of the product. A set of hand-cut gemstone dice in a poly bag reads as components; the same dice in a lined box read as a gift worth three times the price. For retailers and brands, packaging is one of the cheapest levers on perceived value.

What Can Be Branded

Private label packaging is standard for our OEM customers. Depending on the format you can customise:

  • Printed logo and brand colours on the box
  • Custom insert shape to fit your set configuration
  • Branded sleeve or belly band
  • Inserted card — care instructions, story of the stone, or authenticity note
  • Barcode and retail labelling for shelf-ready delivery

Packaging Protects Margin as Well as Product

Two practical points buyers often discover late:

Gemstone corners are the vulnerable part. Natural stone is harder than plastic but more brittle. A die that rattles loose in transit can chip on a corner. A fitted insert is not just presentation — it materially reduces damage claims.

Packaging drives freight cost. A bulky wooden case can cost more to ship than the dice inside it. If you are shipping by air, or shipping internationally to individual backers, run the freight numbers on the packed weight and volume before you fall in love with a heavy case.

Lead Times and Minimums

Printed packaging is usually sourced with its own minimums and lead time, which can exceed the dice production itself. If you need branded boxes:

  • Confirm the packaging spec at the same time as the dice, not after approval
  • Expect custom printed boxes to have their own supplier minimums
  • Build packaging lead time into your launch date

Standard orders run 7-15 business days; custom and OEM orders run 15-30 business days depending on complexity — packaging complexity counts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you make packaging with our brand on it?

Yes. Private label packaging with your logo, colours, and custom inserts is a standard part of our OEM service.

Do you supply shelf-ready retail packaging?

Yes — including barcodes and retail labelling so product can go straight onto a shelf.

Does custom packaging raise the MOQ?

Printed packaging carries its own supplier minimums, which can be higher than the dice MOQ. We confirm both in your quotation.

What packaging protects gemstone dice best in transit?

A fitted foam or moulded insert that stops individual dice moving. Loose packing is the main cause of corner chips.
